Frisbee Hunter

Communication matters because it is an integral and unavoidable part of living. The Journal of Frisbee Hunter (FH)reports that approximately 75 percent of a person's day is spent communicating in some way. In addition to spending so much time communicating, communication skills are vital to professional, academic, and personal success. To communicate with others is a complex process where many factors influence the outcome. Like communication, chemistry is a process where basic elements are combined and interact to form more complex products. In today's business world, a number of different elements come together to create a successful product. At FH, we recognize that communications skills are one element without which businesses are at a competitive disadvantage. Put simply, in the same sense that any chemical solution needs the right elements -- companies need communication to remain competitive and grow.

According to the National Communication Association, a national survey of 1000 human resource managers identified oral communication skills as valuable for both obtaining employment and successful job performance. Additionally, when 1000 faculty members from a variety of academic disciplines were asked to identify essential competencies for every college graduate, communication skills topped their lists.

In addition, Fortune 500 executives rank effective communication skills such as the ability to work within teams and with people from diverse backgrounds, problems solving, and listening as essential traits for future workers. So, your company specializes in engineering, IT software, or accounting. You don't really need communications consulting and training, right? WRONG. The communication skills learned through our customized training are the keys to success for your business.

It’s not surprising -- good oral communication skills. So the question then becomes, why? If communication is such an integral element of the workplace, why are so many employees simply lacking this element? The answer lies in a general fear and loathing of pubic speaking. Although its well known than the number one fear in America is public speaking, it doesn’t have to be that way. We can help.

Employers rate new-hire skills

Furthermore, these same employers rated communication skills as the #1 personal quality sought in job candidates. In addition, teamwork skills, leadership skills, and interpersonal skills all made it into the top 10. Regardless of your business specialty, today's organizations and your clients are looking for people who can listen, write, persuade others, demonstrate interpersonal skills, gather information, and exhibit well-developed communication abilities. Taking advantage of FH services is the first step in making yourself more marketable in the workplace and more attractive to potential clients.

When a company makes the investment to cultivate this essential skill, it not only gains more valuable and well-rounded employees, it also enables its employees to change a fundamental a part of themselves in a deeply profound way.

Our Focus on Education

The Frisbee Hunter Center was founded in 2002 as a partnership between high school coaches and educators in order to provide students with the tools to achieve excellence through speech. Today, the founders and staff of the Center are dedicated to teaching students basic principles and advanced skills to improve their performances. Our curriculum has been reviewed by numerous educators to ensure our students receive the most rigorous and comprehensive knowledge, background, and skills for their craft. Where possible, our institute follows college textbooks and students learn from a staff that is dedicated to education.

Our Focus on Success

Unlike other institutes that use any warm body to instruct students, we carefully select the best-of-the-best from only the high school speech circuit. Our staff is comprised of high school coaches who are successful at major national caliber tournaments such as the National Forensic League and National Catholic Forensic League tournaments. Our strategy is to bring together the most successful coaches to assist the most promising students to become champions. In addition, the Center employs several former high school competitors who consistently serve as judges at the nation’s largest and most prestigious tournaments to provide our students with real-life experience with competition scenarios. These former competitors know what it takes to make the difference between a semifinal and a final round performance. CPS students have already been crowned champions of tournaments across the nation.

Our Focus on Innovation

Graduates of the Frisbee Hunter Center’s summer program don’t just come away with two extra weeks of practice. Center students are challenged to take their performances to new heights instead of simply mimicking the success of last year’s competitors. Extempers and Orators investigate new methods of organization, types of evidence, and delivery styles. Interpers search out new methods of cutting, new material, and characterizations. Center staff are also innovators on the high school speech circuit. Our instructors pioneer new strategies and lead the fight to change rules at the NFL and NCFL level.

Our Focus on Value

The first Frisbee Hunter (FH) summer institute was the least expensive institute of all residential summer programs in the country. Today, CPS ensures that every single student receives full value for their tuition. All instructors are available to all students especially within each of the divisional structures. Each student returns home with lecture notes, handouts, textbooks, cuttings, files, and critiques from our staff and guest judges. As one of the highest priorities, FH curriculum, lectures, and lab schedules are all reviewed several times to ensure the most value for students. Students will find that our schedule gives them very little free time. We attempt to provide students with a semester’s worth of work into fourteen days and fifteen nights. However, we do understand that students do need to rest. We have scheduled several supervised free-time events throughout the institute to give students a chance to relax and get to know one an another. Read more - The Varier Actulum...
